Berlin (dpa) – RB Leipzig spoils coach Manuel Baum’s debut at FC Schalke 04, Eintracht Frankfurt ensures TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s first defeat.
The league lead in the Bundesliga changed twice on Saturday: For the time being, Leipzig took over the top with 7 points in front of Eintracht thanks to a 4-0 (3-0) win against the Krisen-Königsblauen.
The Frankfurt team had previously won 2-1 (0-1) against Hoffenheim in the surprising top game on the 3rd matchday at home. With a 4-0 (1-0) home win against SC Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund also got back into position. On this Sunday, FC Augsburg can climb to first place with a win at VfL Wolfsburg, defending champions FC Bayern Hertha BSC in the second game.
The third defeat in the third game conceded 1. FC Köln with a 1: 3 (0: 2) in the Rhenish derby against Borussia Mönchengladbach. On the other hand, SV Werder Bremen was happy about the second success of the season with a 1-0 (1-0) against newly promoted Arminia Bielefeld. Returnees VfB Stuttgart defied the Bayer 04 Leverkusen Werkself without a win with a 1: 1 (0: 1).
It wasn’t even enough for the Schalke team against strong Leipzigers. After the first half, the visiting team was behind the new coach Baum with three goals. Second victory in the third game: SV Werder continues to collect points at the start of the season. Meanwhile, the promoted Bielefeld suffered their first defeat. After a goal by Leonardo Bittencourt was initially not recognized by video evidence, the 26-year-old struck again shortly afterwards. The goal in the 27th minute was given.
Defeat, victory, draw: VfB Stuttgart returnees won at least one point against Leverkusen. The Bayer team took the lead early: Loan Patrik Schick scored in the seventh minute. Only a little later, the goalscorer had to go out injured. Daley Sinkgraven didn’t survive the first half hour either. With the first win of the season for Leverkusen from coach Peter Bosz, it was again nothing: Sasa Kalajdzic (76th) equalized for VfB.
