Samuel Adegbenro (24) and the rest of the Rosenborg team came to Bergen under strong pressure after a disappointing season start and the kicking of Eirik Horneland. For Adegbenro, the fight became extra special as his father died the day before, Rosenborg himself reported on Twitter shortly after the Fire victory.
On Monday, the Address newspaper spoke to the Nigerian.
– I got the message Saturday after training. Then I told the coaches and all the others. They said I might just stay in Trondheim. But I wanted to go and win the match for him, Adegbenro tells Adressa.
Rosenborg won the match 2-1, but for Adegbenro, the road did not go in Bergen. He had to deal with injury after half-play in the first half, when Brann led 1-0.

– I fell asleep at five o’clock on Sunday because I was crying so much. I think about it now too, but I try to be with the others on the team and laugh with them. But it’s sad, says Adegbenro.
The RBK player and father Hezekiah have had a close relationship throughout their lives.
– He is my biggest fan and the only one in the family who supported me to bet on football, Adegbenro tells Adresseavisen.
The former Viking wing has not seen the danger in almost two years. He cannot attend the funeral either, as the airports in Nigeria are closed by coronary fear.
