Coming to Germany was special for Xavi. “I’ve never been here before. A new country, a new culture. I had to get used to it.” It was important to him to learn the language. “I’m working on that. But it is difficult.” The Bundesliga is also a challenge in terms of sport. “Everyone knows that the level is higher here.” The Dutchman sees potential in himself, especially when switching from offense to defense. “I have to be more fearless in duels and switch more quickly.”

During his time at FC Barcelona between 2010 and 2019, Xavian played at the club’s own academy “La Masia”, and the right-footer got to know Neymar, among others. Brazil’s superstar gave the young talent a hint on the path that, according to his own statement, accompanies him to this day. “He said: In the end they will always talk about you, about good things and bad things.
