Loïs Openda can immediately cash in on his shining season at RC Lens with a new transfer. The Red Devil was previously linked to AC Milan, but now RB Leipzig seems to be getting away with him.
At the end of April it already sounded that RB Leipzig had ended up with Victor Boniface (Union Sint-Gillis) and Openda in the search for a successor to Christopher Nkunku. According to BILD in Sky Sport the choice has now fallen on the former Vitesse mercenary.
The German club is completely convinced of the 23-year-old Belgian and has taken a big step to bring him in. Reportedly, a personal agreement has already been reached with the striker. The German cup winner and number three in the Bundesliga still has to come to an agreement with RC Lens, which is asking for around thirty million euros.
Openda can look back on a particularly good season at Lens. In his first year at the French club, which took him over from Club Brugge, he scored 21 goals and 4 assists in 42 matches.
#RBL: Analysts & #RBLeipzig agree orally! The ball is now in Lens’s hands. A total volume of around €30 million would be manageable for RB. With Balogun, the door tends not to open. Openda is more realistic. We already reported about the interest in April. Agreement first via picture.
