Transfer news from Germany: RB Leipzig has strengthened himself with Mohamed Simakan. The defender comes over for a million amount from the French Strasbourg.
Leipzig reports this on Monday through the official channels. The transfer has already been announced by various German and French media, but is now official. Leipzig does not make any statements about the transfer fee, which according to several media is around eighteen million euros. Simakan will sign in Germany until the summer of 2026.
“I chose RB Leipzig because I think this club is the best for my career. I can develop here in the best possible way and will be challenged here on a daily basis,” said Simakan in an initial reaction on the club site.
Simakan has to succeed Dayot Upamecano at Leipzig. He will leave for Bayern Munich at the end of this season, it was announced a few weeks ago.
