RB Leipzig may bridge the days between the DFB Cup semifinals at SC Freiburg and the Bundesliga league game, also at the Europa Park Stadium, with a short training camp in Breisgau.

Corresponding options are currently being examined, according to the club. The DFB wants the termination of the 2./3. May announced semi-finals later this week. Leipzig has expressed the wish to be able to play on Wednesday so that there is as little time as possible between the two Freiburg guest appearances. The Bundesliga game of Matchday 31, which is about qualifying for the Champions League, is already scheduled for Saturday (6 May, 3:30 p.m.).
“I heard Freiburg is said to be very beautiful”
RB veteran Kevin Kampl (32) advocates staying in Breisgau between “the two very tough games”. “It doesn’t make sense to go back. We can use the days there to regenerate,” said the midfielder, adding: “I heard Freiburg is said to be very beautiful. Maybe we’ll go to the forest for a lap stroll.”
From a sporting point of view, Kampl is confident about the repeat of last year’s final, which was only decided after a penalty shoot-out: “We’re going there to make it to the final, so that’s how we’ll perform there.” First of all, however, on Saturday in the Bundesliga against FC Augsburg it is about defending fourth place, which is important for the Champions League qualification. On Wednesday, coach Marco Rose was still without midfielders Konrad Laimer and Emil Forsberg (both infected), defender Mohamed Simakan trained individually for reasons of stress control, as did Yussuf Poulsen (calf contusion).
