Leipzig. After this SPORTBUZZER and Leipziger Volkszeitung Announced the change exclusively on Friday morning, RB Leipzig made the change official at noon. Brian Brobbey is coming to second place in the Bundesliga from Ajax Amasterdam in the summer and has a contract until 2025. “As a young, very variable and assertive player, he fits exactly into RB’s profile,” said sports director Markus Krösche. “Since Brian had some offers from other top European clubs, we are all the more pleased that he finally decided on us. We will have a lot of fun with him in the coming season.”

Family:
Brian Brobbey, whose full name is Brian Ebenezer Adjei Brobbey, comes from a footballing family. His brothers Samuel and Kevin and Derrick Luckassen also play. While the 20-year-old Samuel is currently without a club, Kevin and Derrick are under contract with Kayserispor and Kasimpasa respectively in the Turkish Süper Lig. Like the future Brian from Leipzig, Derrick will be represented by consultant Mino Raiola.

Brobbey started out at AFC Amsterdam before moving to Ajax in 2010, where he played through the youth teams. In the current season he was used in four competitions, including the Champions League and the Europa League. Most of the games (15) he completed for the Ajax reserve, for which he scored nine times in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and prepared three goals. For the professionals in the Eredivisie, the attacker had seven appearances, six of them as a substitute. Here he scored twice and put on another goal. There are also two hits and a template in the Europa League to book. Brobbey was substituted on three times, most recently on Thursday evening against Young Boys Bern, where he promptly made it 3-0 and hit the crossbar. Without a goal, the striker only stayed in his only game in the premier class.

Anyone who now thinks that the performances are a single highlight season, a day fly, so to speak, for whom it is worth taking a look at the previous seasons. In the 2019/20 season, the Dutchman was absent for a long time due to an ankle injury, played only in 18 games across all competitions, but scored nine goals and one assist in these. It was a whopping 34 goals and six assists in the 38 games of the 2018/19 season, where Brobbey mainly played in the U19 area.
