Razvigor Popov has managed to overcome a terrible diagnosis, said his partner on stage and in life Mimi Ivanova. She revealed that the composer was fine, but the two were still worried about taking a trip to Berlin, where their daughter Ina is with their granddaughter, because of Popov’s kovid situation and emotional state.
“After Razvigor’s chemotherapy, we are very worried about everything. We even stopped working so actively. They caught everything at a very early stage, but for a person who was not ill at all, it struck him. There were purely emotional consequences. So no “How to travel. I’m afraid because of him,” says Ivanova about her husband’s health.
At the moment, the two have taken a break from creative life. They do not accept participations and do not run the school for children talents, which they founded many years ago in Sofia. Because of the coronavirus, they taught online for a while, but had to stop online classes because many of their students were ill and unable to attend classes. They were looking forward to the next wave of the virus to subside and return to their normal routine.

Due to the lack of work at the moment, the music family relies on their savings, most of which were invested to buy a new penthouse in the capital, as well as their pensions. For exactly a year now, they have been receiving BGN 350 as a prize from the Ministry of Culture for their merits in music and performances in the legendary Golden Orpheus competition, which will be paid to them every month for another 2 years. They were receiving yellow pennies for pensions due to problems with documentation and unproven length of service.
