Razer Releases Blade 16 with Mini LED Screen Option and Blade 18 Laptop – Computing – News

Razer will release the Blade 16 and Blade 18 at CES. Both gaming laptops feature recently announced Intel and Nvidia hardware. Razer can supply the 16-inch model with a mini LED backlit screen.

The Razer Blade 16 has kept the distinctive minimalist design of previous Blade laptops from the outside, and the biggest changes are in the hardware. Razer has chosen the second fastest laptop processor Intel can offer, the Core i9-13950HX, with a total of 24 cores and a maximum clock frequency of 5.5GHz.

Of course, new video cards can also be found in the Blade 16. The entry-level model is equipped with an RTX 4060, with a maximum consumption of 140W. Then there’s also the option for a 140W RTX 4070, 175W RTX 4080, or even a 175W RTX 4090.

The versions with RTX 4060, 4070 and 4080 feature a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 240Hz and a maximum brightness of 500cd/m². Optional for the version with RTX 4070 video card and standard on the RTX 4090 version is a screen with mini LED backlighting and a maximum brightness of 1000cd/m². The screen has two resolutions: it can operate at 3840×2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz or 1920×1200 pixels at 240Hz. All screens can display the full P3 color space.

The cheaper versions with RTX 4060 and 4070 come with 16GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, while the more expensive models have 32GB of this RAM on board. There is 1TB of storage available, only the most expensive model with the RTX 4090 has 2TB of storage as standard. All Blade 16 laptops also have a second empty M.2 slot for memory expansion. The Blade 16 will be available in the US in Q1 for $2,700. It is not yet known when and at what price the Blade 16 will arrive in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Blade 18

Razer will also release an 18″ gaming laptop in 2023. This format will also return to CES Maple tree in Alien software release 18″ laptops. The Blade 18 has a metal case in the same style as the Blade 16. The processor is a Core i9-13950HX, just like the Blade 16, except in the more expensive version, which has a Core i9-13980HX processor .

As with the Blade 16, the Blade 18 is available with RTX 4060 to RTX 4090 graphics cards, with the RTX 4060 and 4070 configured at 140W, while the RTX 4080 and 4090 are configured at 175W.

The Blade 18 only has one screen option, with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 240Hz. The screens display the full P3 color space and have a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m².

Surprisingly, the Blade 18 has a webcam with a resolution of 5 megapixels; this is a higher resolution than the Blade 16’s full-hd webcam. Facial recognition login is supported in both models. The cheapest version of the Blade 18, with RTX 4060 graphics, gets 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory, while all the more expensive versions come with 32GB.

The Blade 18 will be available in the US in Q1 for $2,900. It is not yet known which versions will arrive in the Netherlands and Belgium and at what price.
