Razer is well known for its accessories, where especially the company’s mice and keyboards are appreciated among gamers. Although in addition to that they mainly invest in gaming-related gadgets such as headsets, mousepads and hand controls, they have in recent years tested on other categories, some somewhat odd. Desk chairs and screens have been accompanied by straws, face masks and fingertips.
However, Razer’s latest venture takes place inside the computer instead of outside. During the company’s event Razercon 2021 uncovered a hardware debut with the Razer Kunai fans, the Razer Hanbo processor coolers and the Razer Katana power supply. In addition, a fan controller is launched, which is only called Razer PWM Fan Controller.

The Razer Kunai will be available in sizes 120 and 140 millimeters. In addition to being packed with lighting, Razer describes them as designed for optimal airflow for efficient cooling and low noise levels. They are also claimed to have the market’s latest technology for “hydraulic bearing”, which simply seems to mean that the fans have a fluid bearing instead of, for example, ball bearings. In total, up to eight fans can be chain-connected (daisy chain) and synchronized with each other for, for example, light effects.
Razer’s fan controls stand out somewhat, as it is the only one in the gang not to be equipped with Chroma RGB. This is probably because it is a component that is more often stowed away out of sight, which makes any lighting superfluous. It is possible to connect and PWM control up to eight Kunai fans and with Razer’s software it should be possible to adapt both fan curves and lighting.

Anyone who wants to cool the entire computer with Razer can join the fans of the AIO cooler Razer Hanbo. You can choose between radiator dimensions of 240 or 360 millimeters and both are listed as compatible with the upcoming Intel “Alder Lake” Core 12000 series new socket LGA 1700. They should also fit AMD’s socket AM4, which means compatibility with even the next generation then AMD claims that they maintain radiator compatibility in between.
Last out is the Razer Katana, a modular power supply in the ATX form factor. It is launched in several different models with a power between 750–1,200 watts and all must be marked with 80 Plus Platinum. In addition, there will be a lavish model of 1,600 watts marked 80 Plus Titanium. According to Razer, they are only manufactured with premium components, but beyond that not much more is clear.
All three series except the fan controller are equipped with Razer signature lighting Chroma, which means candlelight with addressable RGB lighting across the board. They also support Razer’s Chroma and Synapse software to sync colors and lighting with other Razer products.
The fans have a recommended price that starts at the equivalent of SEK 500 each and the fan controller approximately SEK 550. They are available to order from Razer and will land at dealers soon. Neither the AIO cooler Razer Hanbo nor the power supply Razer Katana have any price information yet, but are expected to be available in November 2021 and the beginning of 2022, respectively.
