Razer has unveiled its second controller for streamers with the Stream Controller X. The X has more LCD buttons than the first Stream Controller, but lacks the touch functionality, the six rotary knobs and the eight function keys. In addition, the X is cheaper.
Of Razer Stream Controller X resembles Elgato’s Stream Deck MK.2, but is slightly smaller. Razer’s controller has 15 buttons with LCD displays so users can see what the customizable keys are doing. For example, users can use the keys to open programs, run macros or adjust the volume.
The device is Razer’s second stream controller, following the Stream Controller announced last year. That first stream controller was another rebadged Loupedeck Live. For the X, Razer has teamed up with Loupedeck again, although the X seems to be a completely new device. The first controller costs 270 euros; the X costs 180 euros.
The Stream Controller X is available immediately and measures 111×80.7x30mm. The device weighs 146 grams without stand. That position places the controller at an angle of 50 degrees and weighs 177 grams. The controller works with a USB-C connection and requires macOS 10.14 or Windows 10 or later.
