Razer has introduced the Stream Controller, a device intended for streamers that includes twelve touchscreen buttons that can be used for shortcuts and apps. The Stream Controller looks like a rebadged Loupedeck Live.
Of Razer Stream Controller includes twelve buttons made up of individual LCD touchscreens. Users can customize what the buttons do, such as navigating to another app or performing functions within a program. During streaming, for example, users can switch between showing or not showing game images to viewers, or showing other overlays on the screen.
The Controller also has a Dynamic Mode, where the buttons adapt to the program the user is in. For example, if the user opens Photoshop, the Controller allows users to use the crop tool or navigate to another Adobe app. The touchscreens allow users to swipe to other button layouts.
On the left and right of the twelve touchscreen buttons are three rotary knobs, with an LCD next to it that shows what these buttons do. For example, users can adjust the volume of the microphone or music, or increase or decrease the volume of their own headphones. At the bottom of the device are eight macro buttons that allow users to choose different layouts or use them as additional shortcut buttons.
The Stream Controller will be available from autumn and costs 270 euros in Europe. The device measures 151×101.5×30.2mm, weighs 210 grams and works with macOS version 10.14 or Windows 10 or higher. Razer claims to have partnered with Loupedeck for the Stream Controller. This company sells with de Live a device very similar to the Stream Controller, with which the latter appears to be a rebadge of the Live. Razer’s device also works with Loupedeck’s marketplace for additional plugins and profiles.
