Razer Book 13 laptops get 16:10 screen and Tiger Lake processors on 24W – Computer – News

Razer introduces a new line of laptops that are not aimed at gamers. The Razer Book 13 features a 13.4 “display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, Intel Tiger Lake processors and Thunderbolt 4. The cheapest model costs $ 1,299.

The Razer Book 13 is available with Intel Core i5-1135G7 and i7-1165G7 processors. Those are economical 15W Tiger Lake-generation processors, but Razer has configured them to run at 24W for extended periods of time for better performance. Users can turn that on via an option in the Razer Synapse software.

The laptops contain a 13.4 “panel with a 16:10 ratio. Razer makes versions with a touchscreen and a variant without. The version without touch has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and is only available with the Core i5 and 8GB ram The touch variant is also available with a resolution of 3840×2400 pixels and comes with Core i7 and 16GB ram.The memory is soldered to the motherboard and therefore cannot be expanded.

For the laptops with touchscreen, Razer uses Gorilla Glass 6 as protection. The glass layer has an anti-reflective coating. The Razer Book’s case is made entirely of aluminum and is about an inch and a half thick. The laptops have two Thunderbolt 4 connections, an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB-A port and a microSD card reader.

Razer has already released thin and light laptops in its Blade series, but with those models the manufacturer is mainly targeting gamers. With the new Razer Book, the company is targeting a wider audience. The keyboard does have RGB lighting that can be set per key. The new Razer Book 13 models will be released in November, but Razer says the ‘wide availability’ in Europe will follow in December. The i5 version will only be available through Razer’s own website.
