The city council leader in Oslo tested positive for a quick test after getting cold symptoms on Wednesday night.

– Wednesday night I got cold symptoms and took a quick test that was positive. The PCR test afterwards was also positive, he writes.
Furthermore, he writes that the municipality on Thursday alerted journalists who was present at the press conference on Tuesday 7 December that they should test themselves.
– One of my employees is also infected, but beyond that, everyone else has taken negative tests. They have still been quarantined since Tuesday night. Others I have met have also been notified, Johansen writes.
– I’m in pretty good shape. The samples are for sequencing, so I do not know if it is omicron, but I am in isolation anyway until the answer is available.
–VG has been in contact with Johansen, who says that he has no further comments beyond what he has written in the post.
On Tuesday press conference, just after that the government tightened national measures, the city council leader begged the people of Oslo to get vaccinated, after several infection records have been set in the capital recently.
– We had been looking forward to a normal Christmas. That will not be the case, Johansen said, and urged people not to lose heart.
– We come through this as we have done many times before.
