According to the latest rumors, Raymond Domenech could recover the post of Ljubisa Tumbakovic, fired this morning from the Serbian selection.
The former coach of the French team, sacked from his post ten years ago after the events of Knysna, could soon return to service. While Serbia has just separated from its coach, Ljubisa Tumbakovic, this Monday, the Frenchman is one of the favorites to take over the reins of the team. According to Serbian media Courier, he would have even responded favorably to the federation’s first approach. But the media also specifies that Vladan Milojevic, former coach of Red Star Belgrade and currently at Al-Ahli, is another candidate seriously considered by Serbia.
The objective for the future coach of the selection will be clear: to qualify the country again for a European competition. Indeed, the Serbia of Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luka Jovic will not be present at the Euro next summer. However, the federation has assured that it does not want to rush into the choice of Ljubisa Tumbakovic’s successor, since international matches will not resume until March.
