Actor Raymi Sambo sought help from a psychologist after the mistreatment of a woman during the turn of the year. Sambo was sentenced by the court in Amsterdam on Wednesday to one hundred hours of community service and the payment of compensation.
Sambo had previously admitted that he hit a woman at a private party at the turn of the year. He stated that both he and the victim were drunk at the time of the action. A day later the woman filed a complaint against the All Stars-actor.
In court, Sambo said that after the night of the incident, he contacted the woman, victim support and a psychologist. “To find the old Raymbi back and be able to forgive myself,” Sambo said in a statement. The Telegraph.
The 49-year-old actor wanted to go home at one point, but the victim and a friend of the actor insisted that he stay longer. After a discussion, the woman is said to have said to Sambo: “Let’s start 2020 nice.” Then he would have slapped her.
According to the actor acted out of reflex and he has never done anything like this before. “You’re never right when you hit someone, including me.”
Victim satisfied with verdict
The victim was assisted by lawyer Sébas Diekstra. He states on behalf of his client that she is “satisfied” with the statement. “The verdict of the police judge does justice to the case and the consequences for the client and her family. She hopes to be able to leave the case behind after today.”
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) did not want to reach a settlement due to the seriousness of the facts. The penalty imposed by the judge is the same as the requirement of the Public Prosecution Service.
