Rayadas beat the Tuzas and get closer to the two-time championship

The Rayadas de Monterrey came one step closer to the two-time Women’s League championship by beating Pachuca 4-1 (7-1) and advancing to the final in which they will face Tigres.

The royals made the Steel Giant vibrate, where they dominated from start to finish against some Gophers who never found the formula to reverse the disadvantage with which they arrived in the first leg (3-0).

Christina Burkenroad opened the scoring for Monterrey in the 4th minute, reaching 91 points with the team.

The player has become one of the figures of the streaked offense with at least one goal in eight different leagues. Christina has 12 scores in the postseason and is surpassed only by Desirée Monsivais with 17 and Rebeca Bernal with 15.

Charlyn Corral did not forgive and in the 45th minute scored the equalizer for Pachuca.

The hosts regained their dominance almost immediately with a goal from Spain’s Lucía García in the 59th. Jermaine Seoposenwe of South Africa increased the local lead to 3-1 by scoring a new goal in the 62nd.

Monterrey had the opportunity to increase its dominance but captain Rebeca Bernal missed a penalty. However, at minute 92, the captain made up for the mistake and scored the fourth of the day for the royals from the spot.

Pachuca finished the match with nine players.

Monterrey boasts extensive dominance against Pachuca in the MX League. Of 22 matches, 12 have been wins for the royals, six for the Tuzas and five draws.
