Jadeja has achieved the legendary feat of being the Indian spinner who has taken the most wickets in a World Cup edition. Jaddu surpassed Indian legend Anil Kumble’s record to reach the top spot in the record achievement.
Jadeja got the feat when Netherlands lower-order batsman van der Merwe was dismissed. Merv was dismissed as Jadeja’s 16th victim in this World Cup.
Earlier, Anil Kumble topped the list with 15 wickets.
Jadeja had 14 wickets in the match against Netherlands. Jadeja, who equaled Kumble’s record by dismissing opener Max O’Dowd, surpassed the legend when he dismissed Merwin.
