Justin Tucker Denies Allegations of Inappropriate Behavior Amid Growing Accusations
Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has vehemently denied allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior made by multiple massage therapists, calling the claims “unequivocally false” in a statement released Thursday. The accusations, detailed in an investigation by The Baltimore Banner, span from 2012 to 2016 and involve nine massage therapists from five different spas and wellness centers.According to the report, two spas banned Tucker from returning due to alleged misconduct. The accusations include claims of exposing his genitals, brushing them wiht his penis, and leaving bodily fluid on tables, which therapists said appeared to be ejaculate. One therapist alleged that despite informing Tucker his wife was her client, he repeatedly exposed himself during sessions.
On Saturday, The Banner reported three additional massage therapists had come forward, bringing the total number of accusers to nine. One of the women revealed she had attempted to share her story with a reporter in 2015 but stopped due to fear of retaliation.
Tucker’s legal team countered the allegations, stating it is “unremarkable” and “not news” that he might have become exposed during a massage. They argued that athletes often shift positions due to discomfort, and it is the responsibility of massage therapists to adjust coverings.
In his social media statement, tucker maintained he has never received complaints from massage therapists, been dismissed from a session, or been told he was unwelcome at any spa. He criticized the reporting as “desperate tabloid fodder” and claimed The Banner misconstrued events as nefarious. Tucker also revealed he hired a defamation law firm after learning about the article, accusing the publication of refusing to disclose full claims and providing minimal time for a response.
The NFL is investigating the matter, with spokesperson Brian McCarthy stating the league became aware of the allegations through the reporter,as they were not previously shared with the NFL. Tucker has not been charged with a crime, and no civil suit has been filed against him.
Attorneys representing the massage therapists, Michael Belsky and Catherine Dickinson, emphasized the importance of their clients’ stories being heard. “Our clients have been afforded comfort in their experiences being investigated and heard by the public and validation in knowing that they are not alone,” they told The Athletic.
The Ravens institution acknowledged the situation, stating, “We take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”
