Raúl could have coached the king at Schalke, but he decided to stay with Real’s B team

Bottom of the Bundesliga standings Schalke recalled Kramer last week after their 1-5 debacle with Hoffenheim in the German Cup. After the offer was reportedly turned down by Raúl or Bruno Labbadia, the Gelsenkirchen club hired recent Bochum manager Thomas Reis.

Now 45, Raúl played for Schalke from 2010-12 to the end of his European career after leaving Real Madrid. He scored 40 goals in 98 competitive matches and was a huge fan favorite. Real’s B team has been led by a Madrid native since 2019.
