Ratopia: New Colonial Simulation Game Announced by Cassel Games

Cassel Games, a Korean independent game developer of the highly acclaimed card game “Ratropolis”, announced today (31st) that the new colonial simulation game “Ratopia” will be available for early access on Steam on November 6th and will support Traditional Chinese interface subtitles. New Animation PV reveals the “Zombie Rat” confrontation gameplay.

“Ratopia” has been developed since 2021. It will be open for trial play at the Tokyo Game Show in September this year. The Steam demo will be available simultaneously (only available until the 12th day of play). The story is set in a different world dominated by rodents. Players control the Mouse Queen from scratch. Establish an underground village and gradually build the ideal “Rattopia” on a daily basis.

The rat people have different personalities and characteristics, and the queen needs to direct them to engage in various tasks and services to prevent the rats from living on the streets. The construction configuration is similar to the sandbox construction gameplay of “Terraria”, including more than 150 types of buildings, and different terrains will be randomly generated in each game.

The Queen can formulate policies to manage the city, promote social operations and prevent social problems. While the underground kingdom is expanding, she can explore the surrounding areas to discover relics, and opening up new areas will affect the development of the city’s characteristics.

It is said that there are sleeping predators in the underground world of “Ratopia”, and the new promotional PV also reveals the threat facing Ratopia: zombie rats.

This game will be available on Steam as an early access version on November 6. Interested players are recommended to try the demo or add it to their wish list.

The development team pointed out that the early access will last for one year, and the official version will enhance the experience of customized characters, dungeons and mini-games, and add power systems, wars and volcanic biomes to the expanded content.
