That’s right, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is headed to PC. Originally a PlayStation 5 exclusive from Insomniac Games, released in June 2021, it becomes another console game that PC players will be able to enjoy as early as July 26. Nixxes Software studio is taking care of the PC version, as it appeared in connection with earlier speculations. Considering the presentation of the PlayStation Showcase, however, it is surprising to the point of surprise that the PC version was not revealed there… Developers from Nixxes in connection with notification revealed what PC gamers can look forward to.
The Ratchet & Clank series celebrated its 20th anniversary this fall, and now it’s time to introduce it to other players. The authors themselves describe Rift Apart as an ideal introduction to the series even for complete newcomers who do not know the world and its heroes. The PC version will offer a number of novelties and improvements, as we have already experienced with other ports such as Spider-Man Remastered or Returnal, thanks to the additional options available to developers with hardware. On the most powerful one, players can expect a breathtaking audiovisual experience, which we have already witnessed on the PlayStation 5. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is full of great graphics and gameplay, but on PC Nixxes intends to conjure up an even better spectacle. Shadows are also added to the ray tracing of reflections, thanks to which the light in outdoor spaces will look more realistic. The game, including cinematic sequences, has been carefully edited and adapted to widescreens and now supports 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 aspect ratios with three monitors. All this not only for the maximum movie experience.
Players will now be able to enjoy the game without frame rate limitations and the latest upscaling technology should also be available. There will be NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS and Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection to choose from, and NVIDIA Reflex and NVIDIA DLAA are also supported to improve image quality. In addition to keyboard and mouse support, including fully customizable control, there is also classic controller support, while the use of DualSense through the cable will also offer haptic feedback. More information, including hardware requirements, will be released by the developers in the coming weeks, but they’ve already provided a few screenshots so we can enjoy the game now. However, the trailer itself proves that the PC game looks good even in motion. In addition, Nixxes and Insomniac have already brought Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales to PC, so let’s hope they do a good job again.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC will be released on July 26 via Steam a Epic Games Store., where the game is available for 1599 crowns. In the event of a pre-order, players will also receive the Carbonox armor and the Pixelizer weapon, which were part of the pre-orders already on the console. The PC version will also offer additional accessories, namely five armors from the Digital Deluxe Edition and another five from the 20th Anniversary Armor Pack, which are inspired by previous Ratchet and Clank games. Neither Steam nor Epic have yet announced the range of localizations, but let us remind you that a Czech localization was available on the PlayStation 5, so it can be assumed that we will also see it, as with previous ports.
