Rasmus Wiedesheim-Paul, 24, was responsible for success in Halmstads BK in the superettan in 2020. The HBK product was then noted for 13 goals and three assists in 18 appearances before he was bought off by the Norwegian big club Rosenborgs BK in October of the same year.
In Trondheim, however, things have never loosened for the 24-year-old. He has been on loan at Mjällby AIF, Helsingborgs IF and HamKam since the winter of 2022, but earlier this fall he opened up to a permanent move.
Even then he opened up for a return to Halmstad, and now the parties have met. This is confirmed by HBK’s manager Magnus Haglund for the local newspaper Hallandsposten.
– Rasmus is “our” player, so we have met and talked, we have done that. I have met him at Örjans vall. We simply had a meeting, me and Rasmus, says Haglund to the newspaper and continues:
– We will be heard from again.
Furthermore, Haglund says that if there is a transfer for “RWP” this winter, it will be permanent, not on loan.
– We think it could be exciting to see Rasmus in the HBK shirt again. So we are positively disposed to Rasmus and to a return to HBK for his part. Then we’ll see. Rasmus knows that we are interested in him coming to HBK again.
Football magazine Tuttosvenskan was the first to report that Wiedesheim-Paul is in talks with HBK about a return to Halmstad.
