Former interior minister and current “Keep the Change” MP Boyko Rashkov announced on Sunday that he was ready to submit documents proving that the money for the Hemus highway went into the coffers of the GERB party. His comment came in response to a question that Boyko Borisov’s party is suing him for BGN 100,000 for saying that the money for the “Hemus” highway went to the party’s coffers.
“I’m ready to submit documents”
“I’m not worried about that. When the time comes, I’m also ready to produce some documents proving it. I can’t give up on what I’ve read and what I’ve said is that I’ve adopted this information in a certain way. I’ll wait for them to freak out and when the time comes I will tell. This is somewhat operational information contained in some materials. In addition, people are alive and well. He wryly responded to GERB’s claim that they suffered for his speech.

The former Home Minister also commented on the request for BGN 27,000 made by Borisov on the occasion of Rashkov’s statement that the money for the construction of “Hemus” was going through a certain bank with which Borisov had joint ventures.
Rashkov stressed that he did not expect such meanness from Borisov.
“It appears the drawers have been emptied and will now seek an opportunity with such claims against specific individuals…”he said.
Rashkov also commented on Boyko Borisov’s words that GERB will submit a report to DANS, the Interior Ministry and the EC per memorandum with Gemcorp again through the lens of the “Hemus” highway.
“Perhaps colleagues, representatives of the former government of Mr. Petkov, will answer more precisely. This has not been a problem for a long time. Gemcorp is not a problem for me. AM “Hemus” is a problem. I will keep repeating this until a solution will be found. What is GERB’s attitude towards the nearly 1.2 billion BGN received from about 20 companies, with no construction already for two years?”Rashkov asked.
“I vote with a car”
“I vote with a machine. I have voted many times with a ballot. But I prefer modern methods. Whether the machine is from South or North America, it limits the subjective factor in voting”Boyko Rashkov also said.
He showed paper records from previous ballot-only elections that looked pretty scribbled.
“A 4th or 5th grader would write more clearly such documents, on which the future of the whole country often depends”commented.
And added – “This is what they want to become the mass practice again. Such should be the document that records the vote of Bulgarian citizens. They are returning us to an antediluvian form of voting which does not correspond to what we want to be as a country.”.
According to him, the DPS is currently wondering how to present arguments as to why it has been so aggressively involved in changing the way Bulgarian citizens vote.
“Even before the change, they did everything possible – regardless of where the machines come from – to make their voters apply the form with the paper ballot. At the last election in Kardzhali, I was surprised to learn that there were 42 mobile polling stations That is, they did everything to make healthy people sick so that they could go and vote with a paper ballot”.said the former interior minister.
Asked directly whether he thought GERB, BSP and DPS had agreed on joint governance, Rashkov referred to the words of their leaders who said that this would not be possible.
“From the very beginning, when the parliament was formed, I thought it would be very difficult to form a government. With the BSP’s move to bring back paper voting, it became clear to me that this party will allow the other two systemic parties to manage skilfully the paper ballot as well as they skilfully handled it”.said the former interior minister in a commentary on the current political situation.
On the pressure of migrants
Regarding the pressure of migrants, Rashkov showed a document on the pressure of migrants during the period of management of the GERB.
“Borisov told a huge lie. What he says is not true, as well as the trusted representative of his parliamentary group (Desislava Atanasova), namely that during their administration there was no migrant pressure”Rashkov said.
