Rare video: Russian troops clearing mines by hand – 2024-04-21 12:35:20

An extraordinary video shot by Ukrainian soldiers shows Russian soldiers clearing mines by hand. The activity is Iltalehti’s war expert Emil Kastehelmen according to dangerous.

The video has been shared on Ukrainian Telegram channels, where it first appeared in recent weeks. The video was probably filmed in the direction of Donetsk.

According to Kastehelmi, it has been known in the past that Ukraine spreads wire mines directly on the road without hiding them in any way. Despite this, Russian troops have driven into them.

– It has not necessarily been possible to reconnoitre the area to which we are proceeding. And the person sitting in the carriage may not notice the mines ahead.

In the case of the video, the mines are spotted, and the tankman himself gets out of the wagon and moves the mines by hand. No demining equipment or support troops of any kind appear to help.

The operation is dangerous both for the carriage itself and for the tankman exiting it.

– At least based on this video, we have to work in a rather unsafe place.

According to Kastehelmi, the Russians were lucky, because Ukraine did not have the ability to hit the wagon at that very moment.
