Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, apologized because Emergency PPKM was not optimal and promised to work hard. NasDem also appreciated Luhut’s apology.
NasDem vice president, Ahmad Ali, said the word ‘sorry’ has been something that is rarely spoken by public officials. Therefore, according to him, what to do Luhut should be an example.
“So far, the word sorry has become something that is rare for public officials. For me, an apology is honesty that must be appreciated, meaning that the policies that have been taken by the government, continue to be implemented, and are evaluated. This means that as a human being, it is definitely not perfect. Expectations “The expectations that are expected do not necessarily go according to what we expect,” Ali told reporters on Sunday (18/7/2021).
According to Ali, there was humility in Luhut’s apology. He considered that Luhut’s apology also showed the government’s honest attitude to the current conditions due to the onslaught of the Corona virus.
“Well, it means that there is honesty from the government in this condition, and it’s a rare thing so far. So officials always never feel guilty. There is humility which was then conveyed by Coordinating Minister Pak Luhut, I think that is a very, very good thing, and this is an example which we must appreciate. So that then everyone does not feel that they have won alone, everyone does not want to know, everyone feels that they can at best, “he said.
Ali also believes that by acknowledging that this Emergency PPKM is not optimal, it means that the government will continue to make improvements. According to him, it is better than being complacent about the performance so far.
“This means that if later the government feels that something has failed, it means that there are efforts to make improvements, if the government feels that something is not yet optimal, it will be optimized. What is difficult is when they feel that they are optimal, they feel they have succeeded, meaning that their work becomes stagnant, ” said Ali.
“I think what Mr. Luhut said is an example that should be followed by all officials in this republic,” he added.
Previously, the apology was conveyed by Luhut in a press conference that was broadcast live via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, Saturday (17/7). Luhut apologized to the people of Indonesia because the implementation of the Emergency PPKM which had been running for two weeks was considered not running optimally.
“As the Coordinator of PPKM Java and Bali, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to apologize to all Indonesian people if the handling of PPKM Java and Bali is still not optimal,” said Luhut Pandjaitan in a press conference broadcast live via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel. , Saturday (17/7/2021).
Luhut said this at the end of his description of controlling the transmission of the Corona virus in the Emergency PPKM so far. Furthermore, after apologizing, Luhut explained that the government would continue its work to tackle COVID-19, particularly the transmission of the Delta variant of the Corona virus.
“I along with the ranks and ministers/heads of related institutions will continue to work hard to ensure that the spread of this Delta variant can be brought down,” he said Luhut.
