At the end of last week, Mother’s Day was celebrated in the United Kingdom, and the British royal family had shared a number of beautiful shots on social networks.
A photo in which Queen Elizabeth II, who will celebrate her 95th birthday in April, was captured as a teenager, deserved special attention from fans of the British royal family.
The picture, published in the official Instagram account of the royal family, was taken in 1940 and depicts Princess Elizabeth with her mother, Elizabeth Bous-Lion, who became better known as the Queen Mother. Elizabeth II was 14 years old when the photo was taken.
“We wish all mothers around the world a special Mother’s Day,” says the photo application.
The coronation of Elizabeth II took place on June 2, 1953, when she was 25 years old. She has now become the longest-serving British monarch.
