Blood test found slight anemia. Liver enzyme values ​​were slightly elevated, SGOT 54, SGPT 43. Aspirated fluid from the pustules was tested for infection using the PCR genetic code method. No smallpox virus and Varicella zoster virus were found. Send blood for infection by the genetic code PCR method. Varicella zoster virus and virus were not found. Herpes simplex type 1, 2, after testing the cerebrospinal fluid, found 68 white blood cells, 81% of which were lymphocytes. Protein in the cerebrospinal fluid was slightly high, 49, sugar was normal, 56. Detection of infection in the cerebrospinal fluid by genetic code PCR did not find Varicella zoster virus. and Herpes simplex viruses type 1, 2
Conclusion: This patient is likely infected with Varicella zoster Virus (VZV), the shingles virus, which is the same virus as the chickenpox virus. Causes invasive shingles and meningitis. No infection was detected because the patient received acyclovir before coming to Vichaiyut Hospital to administer acyclovir intravenously. After giving medicine, the fever subsided.
