The US Geological Survey said the epicenter of the 4.7-magnitude earthquake was near Lebanon, New Jersey. No damage has been reported yet. The European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported a magnitude 5.5 earthquake.
New York Mayor Eric Adams was briefed on the earthquake, the Associated Press reported. According to a report by the Associated Press, residents of Brooklyn heard booming noises and their building shaking. People also felt the tremors in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Connecticut and other areas on the East Coast.
