Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia world championship series, official name MotoGP Mandalika, was organized and running. The motorcycle racing event made two Indonesian citizens worldwide, Rara and Risman.
The Mandalika MotoGP was held on Sunday (20/3/2022) at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Motorcycle racing from the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP classes took place with excitement.
A lot of drama happened during the D-Day race in Mandalika. This is especially the case when the MotoGP class is about to take place.
Heavy rain that flushed shortly before the race forced the race to be postponed. More than an hour the race was postponed due to rain accompanied by lightning ‘rubbling’ the racing arena.
While waiting for the rain to stop, the committee made a breakthrough. The rain handler, a method that has never been applied in various MotoGP host countries, was deployed.
Rara Istiati Wulandari, a woman from Java and now living in Bali, performs a ritual to stop the rain in the middle of the track. The act of bringing offerings and making a special dance to ward off the rain is a special entertainment in the middle Mandalika MotoGP.

Many were impressed to see Rara’s action, which was clearly the first experience for foreign riders. In fact, MotoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo even imitated him in the paddock because he was so happy.
Rara is increasingly praised after the ritual is considered successful. Shortly after the ritual was held by Rara, the rain gradually subsided, until finally the race could be held at 15.15 WIB.
International media praised Rara as the best rain handler. MotoGP Twitter account to admit it. “It worked,” he tweeted, regarding Rara’s action to stop the rain.
Not only Rara, an Indonesian citizen, who went global on the D day of the Mandalika MotoGP race. There was another local resident whose name was mentioned after the race.
He is Risman, who is considered meritorious by Miguel Oliveira, the winner of the Mandalika MotoGP. The man from Lombok received a thank you from the race champion.
What caused it? Risman is apparently considered to have helped Oliveira from arriving in Indonesia until the race. The Portuguese rider himself promised to mention his name on the podium if he could win, as a thank you.
And that promise was fulfilled by Oliveira, who came out as the winner of the Mandalika MotoGP race. The KTM rider was able to finish first, ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco.
“I want to dedicate this victory to Risman, one of the hotel staff where I stay,” said Oliveira, in an interview at Parc Ferme.

“He is a very good man, he continues to encourage me. I have promised him, (if he wins) to present this podium (win) to him. So, this is for you, Risman,” he continued.
In detikSport’s search, Risman does seem to really support Oliveira. In his Instagram account, he uploaded a photo holding the rider, with the caption, “2222 champion candidate,” wrote Risman.
Risman later also became a star. The photo on Instagram has now been liked by more than 100 thousand people, from the previous only about 27 people who liked it. Risman officially became a star in MotoGP Mandalika.
