Very few from a generation, and perhaps multiple generations, stopped or paid attention to the passing of American actress Raquel Welch (1940-2023), the great star who shone in the 1960s and 1970s, and who became famous for her role in the movie One Million Years BC.

Welch, an American of Bolivian descent, whose original name is Raquel Tejada, was crowned queen in a number of beauty contests and fashion shows, before reaching the pinnacle of cinematic glory, and shining in the world of Hollywood. He quotes from her 2010 autobiography: “I really felt like people were completely mocking me, and were only interested in the (naked!) woman in a bunny bikini.”
She says: The price was high, “because I discovered that for the decision makers and the power at the top, it is just something to look at.”
It is also from her biography that when she came for the first time to Hollywood, she was divorced and had two young children trying to walk seriously on the path of artistic work, and that she was seen at that time as a poor, poor woman who did not even own a car, then she appeared in a swimsuit on wall posters for the movie “A Million Years” Kiss Christ” and everyone started to turn to her.
Welch says that she won the first battle then, but she admits that the price was high: “Because I discovered that for those with decision-making and the power at the top, it was just something to look at and that they wanted nothing more from me.”
