Elisabeth Borne says she can have a majority on this text. What do you think ?
Emmanuel Macron knows very well that there is a broad consensus in the country against retirement at 64. He imposes his good will with articles of the Constitution which authorize abuses of power on the part of the executive. The French and their representatives were trampled on. This is still the case for long careers, making it seem like a concession to Aurélien Pradié (LR deputy) while the text presented to the joint joint committee (CMP) still leaves a third of long careers with a contribution period of more than 43 years. In this context, popular pressure is at its maximum on the Macronist and right-wing deputies. It is normal and democratic.
If this text is adopted by a 49.3, what do you do?
In case of 49.3, the Assembly has the duty to make itself respected by the tabling of a motion of censure likely to be widely voted on by all the benches. It seems that leaving the leading role to the Liot group (Freedoms, independents, overseas and territories, Editor’s note) is the most effective in ensuring a broad vote and why not a majority.
There is an opposition between the majority of French people and a stubborn man
The Prime Minister criticizes the left for opposing the legitimacy of Parliament to that of the streets. What do you answer him?
There is no opposition between the street and Parliament. There is an opposition between the majority of French people and a stubborn man, drunk on his presidential power with monarchical features. The 1958 Constitution clearly showed its limits.
Do you believe in a shared initiative referendum (RIP)?
The shared initiative referendum allows parliamentarians to filter popular referendum aspirations. In my opinion, the Nupes will have to accompany and not prevent any citizen action likely to prevent retirement at 64 years old.
