The SCRJ Lakers lost the friendly against SC Bern 2:3. In a balanced match, it was ultimately the deficits in the power play and individual mistakes that made the difference for the Mutzen.
The 1378 spectators in the Rapperswil SGKB Arena saw a balanced game in which both teams played with almost their best line-ups. Since the Mutzen had to cope with the loss of the sick Joël Vermin, they even played with seven foreign players this evening. Thanks to a good start, however, it was the Lakers who had more of the game at the beginning. The Rapperswil team showed good approaches both offensively and defensively. The only shortcoming in the first two thirds was the poor power play. This looked good, but did not create enough compelling results. Worse still, in the 37th minute they had to accept the 1:1 goal by Ramon Untersander during one such power play.
After defending well in the first two periods, the Bernese were able to capitalize on two individual errors in the middle of the last period to make it 1:3. These two goals were too much of a burden for the Rapperswil team, even though Victor Rask scored again in the 57th minute. In summary, the Rosenstadt team has room for improvement in the power play. Considering the efficiency of the opponent from Bern, it would be wise to eliminate the individual errors by the start of the season.
