Krista Joiner, the wife of American rapper and presenter Xzibit, filed for divorce with a judge in Los Angeles on Monday, reports TMZ.
The two had been together for more than 20 years and married in November 2014. Their marriage became world news after Alvin Joiner, as the 46-year-old rapper is called, was arrested a few hours later for speeding and drunk driving.
Xzibit and Joiner had two children, Xavier and Gatlyn. Xavier was born prematurely and died eleven days after his birth. The rapper already had a child from a previous relationship.
It is not clear whether Joiner requested maintenance or whether the couple married on a prenuptial agreement. Custody agreements may be made before the divorce can be finalized.
