Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was found guilty in Los Angeles of, among other charges, shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. A jury ruled Friday that he shot Megan in the foot, was in possession of an illegal weapon and used that weapon recklessly. It is not yet clear what punishment the rapper will receive.
The incident happened in 2020 when Tory Lanez (real name is Daystar Peterson), Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Pete) and others walked away from a party at Kylie Jenner’s in the Hollywood Hills and got into an argument.
In her testimony earlier this month, Megan said the reason was an altercation. It happened when Tory Lanez told Kelsey Harris (Megan’s best friend and also Tory’s ex) that he and Megan were dating.
When the altercation got out of hand, Megan demanded to be let out of the car. When she went out, Tory “dance, bitch!” she yelled at her and shot her in the feet.
Megan Thee Stallion struggles with depressive thoughts
According to Megan, the lawsuit has Lots of flu about his life and career. “People don’t even want to touch me anymore. Clicking is despised in the hip-hop industry,” the rapper said during questioning. As a result he suffers from depression.
During the trial, Tory’s lawyers tried to convince the jury that it was not him, but Kelsey Harris who shot Megan. On January 27, the rapper will be told what punishment awaits him. He faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months for the shooting.
