Migos changed rap
“He was 28 years old. Takeoff, then the guy who convinced his uncle Quavo to rap and changed the flow of the genre. Migos’ best rapper (as uncle himself told me a few months ago). A huge loss, “writes American journalist Jewel Wicker about Takeoff’s death.
He was 28 years old. Takeoff, the then-kid who convinced his uncle (Quavo) to start rapping, then helped change the flow of rap. Migos’ undisputed best rapper (uncle told me about him just a few months ago). What a loss.

The Migos trio formed in 2008 and became famous with hits Versace or Bad and Boujee. Today he recorded the cult album trilogy The Culture I-III and collaborated with leading artists of the rap scene, from Drake to Cardi B. His specific flow, called in English rap triplets (freely translated as rap triplets, in which artists rap three consecutive syllables), Migos basically influenced the whole rap scene.
Migos have had several looks at the top of the charts, thanks to singles or full albums. Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, also recorded a solo album The Last Rocket (2018) and only on Monday released a single with the new project Unc & Phew, which he founded with his uncle Quave.
