Rapper Pepijn Lanen, presenter Chris Zegers and actress Tjitske Reidinga are participating this year Maestro. Musician Frédérique Spigt, singer Ammar, comedian Glodi Lugungu and presenter Roos Moggré will also learn to conduct an orchestra in the program.
Conductor and pianist Ed Spanjaard replaces Henrik Schaefer on the jury in the seventh series and also becomes jury chairman. AVROTROS announced this on Monday.
Spanjaard was chief conductor of the Limburg Symphony Orchestra and the Nieuw Ensemble for many years and in 2002 was responsible for the music at the wedding of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. As in previous years, the other jury members are double bassist Dominic Seldis and violinist Isabelle van Keulen.
Previous Maestroseasons were won by comedian Lenette van Dongen, DI-RECT guitarist Spike, actresses Leona Philippo and Maartje van de Wetering and singers Lucas Hamming and sor.
The first episode of the new season can be seen on December 3. The presentation is once again in the hands of Frits Sissing.
