Rapper Drake Revealed as the Buyer of Tupac Shakur’s $1 Million Ring at Sotheby’s Auction

Rapper Drake is the one who deposited $ 1 million (about 900,000 euros) this week for a ring designed and worn by rapper Tupac Shakur. According to auction house Sotheby’s, the ring is the most expensive hip-hop-related item ever sold.

Drake has revealed that he is the one who bought the ring at an auction in New York. The Canadian rapper already showed off the jewelry on Instagram on Thursday, but now Sotheby’s has also confirmed that he is the new owner.

The ring is shaped like a crown and contains gold, rubies and diamonds. The ring is engraved with “Pac & Dada”. “Pac” stands for Tupac and “Dada” for Kidada Jones, Shakur’s girlfriend at the time. In his Instagram photo, Drake wears the ring on his little finger.

The auction house estimated that the jewelry would fetch up to $300,000. Tupac wore the ring during his last public appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.

Tupac was shot on the street in Las Vegas in 1996. A week later, the rapper died of his injuries at the age of 25.
