Rapper Donnie Proposed as Face of Vaccination Campaign in Controversial Column

The column was about vaccinating children against, for example, mumps, measles or rubella. Doctors answer questions about this on a new Instagram account. Martijn had another idea: using rapper Donnie to inform parents and children about vaccinations.

“As soon as the government has to reach the somewhat simple layer of the population, rapper Donnie of Steel is taken from his care farm. (…) I think it would be a good idea to inject Donnie with tetanus, diphtheria, polio, whooping cough, measles, rubella and mumps and then drive him past schools to show parents and children the consequences of these diseases,” Martijn said in his column in the TV program.

He now returns to that part of the column. Martijn says he regrets insulting the rapper. ‘Donnie has nothing to do with the subject at all. I never regret columns, but I do regret this piece. This is just a shitty prank and this was fucking stupid of me. Apologies.’

As far as we know, Donnie has not responded to the column or apologized.
