In September last year, news broke that the rapper Coolio had died, aged 59. It was reported by TMZ.
At the time, his manager told the website that the rapper may have died of a heart attack.
Coolio is dead
Coolio was visiting a friend and was found lifeless on the floor after going to the toilet. The friend then allegedly called the emergency services, who arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Now the final cause of death is clear.
According to TMZ, the rapper died of fentanyl. He also had traces of heroin and methamphetamine in his system.
Family spokesperson Jarel Posey tells the website that Coolio’s immediate family has just received the news from the coroner.
Jack Vreeswijk is dead
The rapper had enormous success with the song “Gangsta’s Paradise”, which was heard in the famous film “Dangerous Minds” with Michelle Pfeiffer in the lead role in 1995.
His real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr.
Besides the signature song, he also had several other hit songs, such as “Fantastic Voyage”, “1,2,3,4 (Sumpin’ New)” and “It’s All the Way Live (Now)”.
