Rapper and influencer Lil Tay (Claire Hope) died at the age of 14 in a ‘sudden and tragic’ way, according to the statement posted on her Instagram. It goes wild in the comments below the post. Neither the police nor her manager can confirm her death. What’s going on in the Hope-Tian house?
“Something terrible has happened here, there is an investigation going on for a reason”
Claire Hope goes viral in 2018 as Lil Tay, a very young American-Canadian influencer pursuing a rap career. The then only nine-year-old girl throws money bills, argues, swears and drives very expensive cars in her controversial videos on social media. She performs in various YouTube shows, like Jake Paul’s. And her parents? They would play a major role in the puppet show, just like her brother Jason.
A great puppet show, because Lil Tay turns out not to be the selfmade millionaire she claims to be. Mother Angela Tian, who is said to have resigned as a real estate agent, is accused of exploiting her own child. In 2019, Lil Tay’s Instagram account was put on hold due to the custody case between her mother and father Chris Hope.

“When my daughter went viral, I disagreed with most of her social media activities,” the father said at the time. HollywoodLife know. “I have taken legal action to stop things that seem to me to be dangerous for her physical and mental health and for her future.”
The judge ruled that Lil Tay had to live with her father in Canada. Nothing has been posted on her social media since then. The last post is from June 19, 2018, in which the girl reflects on the death of rapper XXXTentacion. Until now, five years later.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the terrible news of the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Claire,” the post dated August 9, 2023 reads. “We have no words to describe the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This outcome was totally unexpected and left us in shock.’
Not only Claire, but also her 21-year-old brother – who was rumored to manipulate his sister into her controversial content and accused their father of abuse – has died, according to the report. “Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief,” the statement read. It is also made clear that the deaths of brother and sister are ‘still being investigated’.
With all the information about Claire and her family in a monopoly, her followers are very concerned. I’m not usually into conspiracy theories, but this is weird. Digital fingers point to the parents, who are even accused of murder by a few. “Something terrible has happened here, there is an investigation going on for a reason,” a follower concludes.
Other than the Instagram post, there is so far no official, reliable source that can confirm Lil Tay’s death. To add to the mystery, an Instagram account has now surfaced whose user claims to be Lil Tay’s still-living (!) brother.
“Just to be clear, I’m not dead,” he writes. “I can no longer access Lil Tay’s Instagram account. My sister and I were winning our case, it was still a few days before we would get everything back, all her social media and come out with the truth.”
The writer repeats, “Me and Tay are not dead. My parents want us off the internet, but we’re not leaving. This is our new account, for now. They spread disinformation. (…) They are the only ones with access to the account. Do not believe it. Our parents took everything and mistreated Tay.”
