On Monday evening, the Rapid Support Forces announced their control of large parts of the headquarters of the Armored Corps camp in Khartoum, amid fierce battles with the Sudanese army.
The Rapid Support Forces said that they obtained a large amount of ammunition, military equipment and armored vehicles, in battles aimed at controlling the armored corps camp.
Violent clashes continue between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in the vicinity and inside the headquarters of the Armored Corps, in the Al-Shajara area, south of the capital.
The ongoing battles since Sunday morning have resulted in the death and injury of dozens on both sides, amid reports of a large number of civilian casualties due to the violent indiscriminate air and ground bombardment, which targeted residential areas close to the headquarters of the Armored Corps.
And while the army said, on Sunday, that it repelled an attack by the Rapid Support Forces, the latter published video clips indicating that significant progress had been made to control the camp, which is one of the 3 main headquarters still under the control of the army.
The Rapid Support Forces had taken control of 7 strategic headquarters in the capital, since the outbreak of fighting in Sudan in mid-April.

The Armored Corps is located about 12 kilometers south of the General Command of the Army, and extends over an area of 20 square kilometers. It includes infantry brigades, armored car units, and 75 battle tanks. It also has an airstrip.
The importance of the armored corps lies in the fact that it is considered the last point between the concentrations and supplies of the current Rapid Support Forces and the headquarters of the Army General Command, especially after the fall of the Yarmouk Camp and the Central Reserve Command south of Khartoum in the hands of the Rapid Support Forces.
