Medical and military sources confirmed, on Saturday, that “marches belonging to the Rapid Support Forces targeted the Medical Weapon Hospital in Omdurman.”

The sources reported that “4 civilians were killed, in addition to injuries, as a result of the bombing of the rapid support marches on the hospital.”

The Sudanese Ministry of Health also indicated that “civilians were killed and injured during the RSF attack.”

Earlier, violent clashes renewed in the center of Omdurman and Khartoum North between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, today, Saturday.

The Sudanese army said that its forces carried out a successful qualitative operation in the areas of Al-Muhandisin, Al-Awda and Hamad Al-Nil in Khartoum.

Communications were cut off for several hours on Friday Sudanese capitalwhile battles were raging between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in several areas in Khartoum, with humanitarian organizations warning of an exacerbation of the crisis.

Human rights organizations and activists in Sudan told Reuters on Friday that they had evidence that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces had detained more than 5,000 people in inhumane conditions in the capital, Khartoum.

The Rapid Support Forces have been fighting the Sudanese army for three months. Residents accuse her of looting and occupying homes.

In response to a request for comment, the RSF said the reports were untrue, that they only held prisoners of war, and that they were being treated well.

The Rapid Support Forces told Reuters, “The organizations turn a blind eye to the army’s violations of the rights of civilians, including air strikes, heavy artillery, arrests, and the distribution of weapons to civilians.”

The organizations, which asked not to be named for fear of reprisals, said that there are fighters among the detainees in several places around Khartoum, but that they also include 3,500 civilians, including women and foreign nationals.

Sudan slid into the abyss of fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces on April 15, while the military and civilian parties were putting the final touches on a political process that was supposed to lead to the formation of a civilian government.

The Sudanese army and Rapid Support reached several ceasefire agreements mediated by Saudi Arabia and the United States, but the negotiations that took place in Jeddah were suspended last month after the two parties to the conflict exchanged accusations of violating the armistice.
