The Styrian team is still winless in eleventh place, while Austria are seventh with four points. On Saturday, champions Sturm beat bottom-placed Klagenfurt 2-0 away, and Salzburg won 1-0 at LASK (9th). GAK (10th) and Blau-Weiß Linz (7th) drew 2-2.

Successful Europa League dress rehearsal

Rapid has risen to become the sole pursuer of the still flawless league leaders Salzburg in the third round of the Bundesliga. The Viennese team beat WSG Tirol, who had previously had the same number of points and goals, 2-0 (1-0) in front of 15,200 spectators at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday and are still undefeated, two points behind the “Bulls”. This means that the dress rehearsal before the first leg of the Europa League play-off on Thursday (9.30 p.m.) in Portugal at Sporting Braga was also a success.

There, they will have to create a good starting position in the fight for a place in the group phase of the second most important European Cup competition. Dion Beljo (42′) initiated the victory against the Tyroleans with his fourth competitive goal in the Green-Whites’ jersey. Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao (67′) was then the next summer signing. The guests suffered their first defeat in the fourth competitive game under Philipp Semlic, but are still doing well in the table in sixth place. The negative thing for them is that two players, Lennart Czyborra and Lukas Hinterseer, were injured before the break.

Hartberg got first point of the season

TSV Hartberg was the last club in the league to score on Sunday. The East Styrian team picked up their first point of the season with a 1:1 (1:1) home match against Austria Vienna and gave up the last place in the table to Austria Klagenfurt. Patrik Mijic equalized the early deficit caused by Maurice Malone (3′) after great preparatory work by Justin Omoregie (28′), but in the second half TSV missed several chances to win.

Austria wanted to take the momentum from their first win of the season against their favorite opponent, but they only managed that in the early stages. After a corner from Dominik Fitz, Malone won the aerial battle against Jürgen Heil and headed in to make it 1-0.

But Hartberg were by no means unsettled. Paul Komposch had the first chance to equalize, but shot over the bar from close range (11th minute). After an energetic advance from Omoregie, the home team were able to celebrate a well-deserved 1:1. The 20-year-old moved across half the field unchallenged and served Patrik Mijic with an ideal through ball, who did not miss his first goal in the Bundesliga.

Santos scored Altach’s 2-0 win

Altach has shaken off its initial worries. In the third round, the Vorarlberg team celebrated their second win in a row on Sunday with a 2-0 (1-0) win over WAC and moved up to fourth place in the table. Man of the match was once again Gustavo Santos with a brace (24th, 51st). The Brazilian also scored in his third league game in a row and has now scored five goals.
