Rapid II continues strong start to the season against Voitsberg

SK Rapid II concludes the fourth round of the ADMIRAL 2nd League with a 4-0 win over ASK Voitsberg.

There is already a lot going on in the early stages. Voitsberg has the chance to make it 1-0, but Pungarsek cannot push the ball into the empty goal from close range (11th).

The Green-Whites took the lead almost immediately. Wurmbrand appeared alone in front of Ehmann after a through ball, ran past the Voitsberg keeper and scored (12th). The game continued at a rapid pace, captain Hedl (14th) missed the half-empty goal from a good position after a pass from Zivkovic, partly because a Voitsberg player deflected the ball.

The following corner becomes extremely dangerous because Ehmann cannot hold onto the ball. Wurmbrand shoots the ball onto the crossbar, then a Voitsberger clears a Hedl header on the line (14th).

Decision before half-time

The young Hütteldorfers keep the pressure on and tie up the Central Regional League champions. Hedl holds his ground against a defender, but his shot from the half-right position flies over the goal (30′). Shortly afterwards, the goal works, which is a copy of the 1-0. Zivkovic passes to Hedl, who goes past Ehmann and scores – 2-0 (38′).

Before half-time, Rapid II made the decision, Gueye headed a Kaygin corner into the goal with relatively little pressure (45th minute). Before that, Kaygin himself failed in a one-on-one with Ehmann (44th minute).

In the second half, the picture remains the same, after two assists, Zivkovic scores himself in the 55th minute. A bad pass from the Styrian team lands right at his feet, the talent leaves Ehmann no chance to defend – 4:0.

Voitsberg didn’t do much in the remainder of the game, with one shot going well over the goal. Otherwise, Rapid II controlled the game and secured a clear home victory.

Jürgen Kerber’s team has ten points after four games and is still hot on the heels of the previously flawless top duo Ried and Kapfenberg. ASK Voitsberg, on the other hand, is still waiting for its first point.
