The SK Rapid Wien binds another talent to the club in the long term. After defender Marko Dijakovic extended his contract to 2024 on Thursday, the next young talent is signing for three years in Hütteldorf. Rapid II captain Oliver Strunz receives a new contract, which is dated until the end of the 2023/24 season. The striker’s old contract would have expired in the summer. Like Dijakovic, Strunz should also be an option for the professional squad in the future.
“To be able to play for another three years for the best and largest club in Austria makes me incredibly proud. I’ve been here for over twelve years and see SK Rapid as an ideal opportunity to develop further. At this point I would also like to thank all of my previous coaches and supervisors for their trust. I know that I am still at the beginning of my career, but I will give everything to make the leap to the professionals, ”said happily Strunz for three more years in the green and white jersey
“Oliver Strunz is a highly talented player who has had to deal with several injuries and setbacks in recent years. Especially this year he showed at Rapid II in the 2nd league and showed everyone what he can do. If he is in his rhythm and stays healthy, he will take his development steps and increase performance. It’s nice that he will stay with SK Rapid for three more years, ”says managing director Sport ZoranBarisic, satisfied with the contract extension for Rapid II captain Strunz.
