Because the budget will be very limited this summer, FC Barcelona is also looking for inexpensive alternatives on the transfer market. There is one in Brazil.
FC Barcelona is looking for meaningful reinforcements in almost all parts of the team. According to Sport, Raphael Veiga is now an option, which the daily sports newspaper describes as a “cheap alternative”.
Veiga has now become one of the best midfielders in Brazil and Palmeiras is having a strong season thanks to him. The reward followed in March when the 27-year-old made his debut for Brazil in a friendly against Morocco.
Veiga has played for Palmeiras since 2017 but peaked around 2020 and has been in impressive form ever since. The midfielder has scored 18 or more goals in each of the last three seasons and already has ten goals and six assists this round.
Veiga’s contract runs until December 2026 but according to the report he could be had for just €15m with his salary also fitting into FC Barcelona’s new pay structure. So far, however, nothing concrete has emerged.
