Manchester –
Lisandro Martinez came and was predicted to be a mainstay on the back line Manchester United. Raphael Varane welcome the competition.
The back line was in the spotlight in United’s game last season. Even though they already have Harry Maguire, Varane, Victor Lindelof, and Eric Bailly, the Red Devils are still hunting for another defender.
This summer, a new defender will finally land at Old Trafford. MU and Ajax have agreed on the transfer of Lisandro Martinez, at a price of around £55 million including bonuses.

Lisandro Martinez then predicted to be a mainstay in the back line of MU. His excellent form with Ajax last season made him the first choice of manager Erik ten Hag, who coached him last season.
The player who is referred to as the ‘butcher’ of the strikers has proven to be brave in dueling on the field. Varane, who was also recently recruited from Real Madrid last season, welcome the presence Lisandro Martinez. He confirmed that he was ready to compete with the 24-year-old defender in the team.
“Good competition for the team. Harry is an important player, he’s the captain, obviously has a lot of quality,” said Varane, reported by the Manchester Evening News.
“The team will always be better with this kind of competition. All great clubs are like this. If everyone wants to compete to get into the team, that’s a good thing,” said Raphael Varane.
