From May 2 to 7, the second edition of the Parole et parole(s) festival will be held, dedicated to public speaking in different places in the city of Auxerre. Singer Raphaël will be performing at the event this year. He will be in concert on May 6 at the Auxerre theater as part of his Magnetic Band tour. “We asked him because he is a text singer, who touches several generations”, describes Céline Bähr, the deputy in charge of culture for the municipality.
A “rather successful” first edition
The entire festival program was unveiled by the City on its website this Friday, April 15, 2022. The event will this time take place over several days. Workshops will take place in different places in the city around public speaking. Organized for the first time last September, the festivities took place over one day, with the highlight being the screening of the documentary Out loud and a concert by Jeanne Cherhal. “We believe that this first edition was rather successful. A festival takes time to build, but we are also happy to have mobilized the various cultural actors of the city”, indicates Céline Bähr.

A program will also be dedicated to schoolchildren, with preparation for the baccalaureate oral examination for the seniors of Fourier and Jacques Amyot high school. A reading aloud competition will also be organized for CM1 and CM2 students. “Our wish was to give a coherent image of the abbey around public speaking. We are going to welcome nearly 400 students, some of whom have never come”, indicates Céline Bähr. The event, meanwhile, is planned for a budget of 20 to 25,000 €.
