Rape of a minor: the ex-swimmer Yannick Agnel placed in police custody


The former professional swimmer and double gold medalist at the London Olympics in 2012, Yannick Agnel, was arrested and taken into custody this Thursday, December 9 on rogatory commission from the investigating judge as part of a judicial investigation opened for rape of a minor.

Investigators from the DTPJ (Territorial Directorate of the Judicial Police) of Mulhouse arrested the swimming champion at his Parisian home around 12:15 p.m. this Thursday, we learned from a police source, confirming information from CNews.

The alleged victim is the daughter of his former trainer

Yannick Agnel, consultant for France Televisions during the last Olympic Games, in Tokyo, was arrested as part of a rogatory commission for “rape of a minor”. The alleged victim, daughter of her trainer at the time, came to file a complaint this summer, for facts dating back several years, a judicial source told the Parisian. She was then 13 years old. The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police division of Mulhouse.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the complainant is the daughter of Lionel Horter, who was at the time the coach of Yannick Agnel. The Olympic champion was lodged with his coach for a few months in Mulhouse.
